Ha! I bet you thought the whole Halloween thing would be over now that the most scary night of the year has past, but here's just one more related topic for you.
Today is All Saint's Day, tomorrow All Soul's Day, which of course corepsonds with Dia de los Muertos. I've always loved the imagery of Dia de los Muertos much more than the dreary Roman Catholic holiday as I know it (Belgian weather might have something to do with this as well though). Here it's bleak and desolate and it seems to focus soley on the grieving. While the sugar skulls and bright colours of the Catrinas seem to convey something of the joy of remembering the good times as well.
Anyway, I too unfortunately have a few people to celebrate today, as I'm sure most of you do. So here's to remembering the good times and having a smile to go hand in hand with the occasional tear. Cheers everyone ♥
