Swarm

Felt like doing something completely different this time so I got out the old watercolours. It had been a long time since I watercoloured and although my skills are very rusty and I didn't always manage to transfer my ideas to the paper exactly like I wanted them, I'm very happy with this one! Also forgot what a nice relaxing trance-like state I get into while I'm painting, surrounded by a clutter of brushes, bits of paper and paints. I should be doing it more often.

I love flying fish. These are made up out of watercolour (and salt), coloured pencil and Photoshop tweaks.

Layer

Another Illustration Friday piece. This week's subject didn't spark any immediate associations for me, except perhaps the word 'Photoshop' and that didn't do me any good. So I decided to google 'layer' and came across this great quote (by Woody Harrelson apparently, who'd have thought).

She's coloured pencil on paper and then fiddled with in Photoshop (there it is again), because my scanner is utter crap and almost doesn't register any colour at all, so I had to do something.

Sweater

I wanted to make a piece of artwork but whenever I'm faced with a blank canvas and no limitations, I tend to get adrift in the ocean of endless possibility. Which is a fancy way of saying I mostly end up doing nothing :) So all hail to nice initiatives like Illustration Friday to give us two of these essentials every week: a subject and a deadline! This week: "sweater".

Nanno !

Birth card I did for the little cutie that made his debut today :)

Friday, 11 February 2011

The name is Daddy. MY Daddy.

Ok, so that was totally lame :) my apologies.

Every little boy wants to be James Bond, even when that little boy turns 49. Birthday card for my dad.

Doodle Girl

She started as just a doodle at work. Honestly, she did. But between taking five minute breaks (I don't smoke, so doodling is my version of having a quick cigarette), and being temporarily out of work while we wait for the director's comments to get through, she turned into this.

Merry Christmas !

This year's Christmas card. Happy holidays everyone!

The site is up, so go have a look! Explore, click on everything click-able and let me know should something not work properly.

Also, you may notice the 'links' page is still rather blank so let me know if you'd like me to link to your page/blog (and link back to me in return please).

Here's the image I made for the site. We all know I love the fifties (if you didn't you know now), and if a girl can't live out her fantasy of dressing up in a pin-up-ish kind of way in a highly unrealistic cartoon version of herself, then where the hell can she, right? So there you have the philosophy behind it all. Enjoy!

New header

A new blog deserves a new blog-header. You can of course see it at the top of this page but here it is again, slightly bigger!
