I did this painting as a gift for my sister's 25th birthday today (who's pregnant at the moment). It's my first time working with gold leaf and it was fun! :) It gives a nice depth to the work because of the different intensities it has depending on how the light catches it, something that sadly doesn't really register on a scan. In fact, as always, my little cheap scanner doesn't really give an accurate rendering of the colours but I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped it so... I decided to take one of the wrapping itself, with which I had fun as well. :)
